Stellantis an Italian-American Automaker giant has made an announcement on Monday, declaring LG Energy Solutions will become their new joint venture partner for EV battery production.

According to the announcement, the two companies will build and operate battery production facilities in North America, with the first slated to come online in 2024. The agreement covers battery cell and module production in North America, however the companies have yet to disclose about the location of the plant.

Once completed, the facility is said to be responsible for 40-gigawatt hours’ worth of energy production according to the announcement.
