Apple has partnered with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. to develop micro OLED displays which they plans to use in the upcoming augmented reality (AR) devices – as reported by Nikkei Asia on Feburary 10, 2021.

The report said - Apple is collaborating with TSMC, the only supplier of iPhone processors to develop micro OLED displays which are far thinner, smaller and use less power to be more suitable to use in wearable AR devices.

The displays under development are less than 1 inch in size and it is said that, the joint project with TSMC is currently at the trial production stage and it will still be years away to achieve mass production.
