Netflix announced in March that it would reduce the quality of streaming videos to help reduce Internet traffic. It is now gradually returning to its original resolution.

In March, Netflix heard a request from the European Union and temporarily suspended HD videos. During the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, people started to use it many times more, and thus its share in the total amount of transferred data increased significantly. It has become the fourth largest Internet producer in the EMEA region, after Youtube, http and BitTorrent. From last year's share of 6.09%, it got to 7.69%. After two months, however, it returns its platform to its original state and switches back to full resolution. However, HD quality will not be available everywhere. Netflix is responding to the market situation and will only relax restrictions in countries that have started to release coronavirus measures.
