13.11.2020 | China launched “world’s first 6G” test-satellite
According to BBC News – China has successfully launched “the world’s first 6G satellite” into earth’s orbit for testing along with other 12 satellites from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in the Shanxi Province.
The telecoms industry has yet-to-be agreeing on the specifications 6G should have and thus, it is not yet certain the tech from China will fulfill the final standards. However, it involves the use of high-frequency terahertz waves to achieve data-transmission speeds many times faster than 5G is likely to be capable.
The satellite also carries technology which will be used for monitoring crop disaster and forest fire prevention.
