On 15th of April, multiple tech executives has offered their own estimates as to how many years will the ongoing chip supply shortage will last all over the world? According to them – it could last “a couple of years”.

TSMC CEO C.C. Wei offered a dire estimate to investors on Thursday, saying that the company hoped to “offer more capacity” for meeting retail and manufacturing demand “in 2023”. According to Bloomberg reports, TSMC is moving forward with a manufacturing plant of its own in Arizona which can cost “up to 12 billion”.

Intel is also planning to build a pair of factories in Arizona with their $20 billion plan and President Joe Biden is also proposing a $50 billion chip-production infrastructure plan.
