A 27-year-old Amazon warehouse operations manager pleaded guilty to mail fraud on Friday after stealing over $273,000 worth of merchandise, the Department of Justice said in a release.
Between June 2020 and September 2021, Douglas Wright, Jr., an operations manager at Amazon’s Charlotte warehouse, allegedly stole products with a total value of more than $273,000, using his access to get computer parts like internal hard drives and processors, according to the Department of Justice.
In a court trial on Friday, wright said that he shipped the products to his home, then sold them to a computer wholesale company in California and has pleaded guilty to the charges. Wright could face up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine with sentencing date unconfirmed.
