Counterpoint has published an analysis which shows that music services have been really successful this winter and spring. The number of subscribers increased to 394 million.
The number of listeners who subscribe to some of the music services is approaching 400 million. In the first quarter of this year, these platforms were really successful. Among other things, the coronavirus pandemic has contributed to this.
In the first quarter, people spent much more time at home and, in addition to surfing the Internet more often, also listened to music more.
Spotify clearly had the highest sales in this period, controlling 30% of the market. He was followed by Apple Music with 25%.
Other platforms already had a much smaller share. Amazon Music came in third with 12%, followed by YouTube Music with 9%.
